A fire had broken out at 3 am destroying storage units and cars in the parking lot below the 2 rows of buildings. Everyone was in danger. The smoke was so thick that no one could easily escape their apartments as the fire grew, coming closer to the actual buildings. People waited for over an hour, 2 hours in some cases, for them to escape from the fire entering their houses. While others jumped from the building through porches and windows. They thought this might be the end!
By the time it was over 3 hours later, the damage had already been done. The fire had unfortunately reached the buildings and damaged dozens of apartments, close to 20 cars burnt completely, and a number of storage units with valuable belongings had burnt to the ground.
Between the property damage and emotional trauma which requires immediate action and care, the community was left in shock by this traumatic event!
