4 Hours Before Rosh Hashanah 5782: The Gedolei Hador shlita will gather in front of the Shechinah At the Kosel Hamaaravi to daven for Vaad Harabbanim’s donors to be written and sealed lechayim tovim uleshalom
The Kosel Hamaaravi is full of people, despite that fact that it is right before Yom Tov. The sun is making its way towards the west as it sends warm rays to the last day of 5781.
At this time, exactly like last year, two years ago and three and five years ago, the entourage of Gedolei Hador is approaching the site of the Mikdash in order to daven for you.
Who Will Live…
Four hours before Rosh Hashanah. We are all busy with the last preparations for the two days of Yom Tov, and the tension of the Judgement is palpable: what will be written for us for the coming year?
It seems as if only yesterday we wrapped ourselves in tallesim and received year 5781 with limited tefilos due to Coronavirus restrictions. How we hoped and longed and prayed that by Chanukah, or at the very latest by Purim, COVID 19 would disappear from our lives!
And now 5781 is drawing to a close. A year of celebrations and difficulties, a year of good news and also of terrible gezeiros. The world follows its course, Mashiach has not yet come, and Coronavirus, too, is still affecting us.
How did this year treat you? How many happy gifts did you receive – and how many difficult issues did you have to deal with? How many times did you stop and say to yourself: It’s a shame that I didn’t daven about this a little more during the Yamim Nora’im?
And now we are being judged again. From the beginning!
Every detail is being carefully examined: health, parnassah, the house we live in. Every experience we have, every failure and every success – Everything is being determined now.
Even our own body is not in our control: eyesight, hearing, breathing…. the ability to stand up and walk, to hold a cup of coffee, to swallow the liquid…How many babies were born this year without the reflex to swallow? How many sick people were nourished through a Nasogastric tube?
And what about mental health?
And parnassah? Many of us have mortgage payments to make. Or businesses that we want to grow. Or bank accounts that we don’t want depleted.
And our children… take a look at them, from oldest to youngest. What do we wish for them for the coming year?
There are so many things that need to go right in order for our lives to be livable. There is so much to daven for.
Fortunately, the Gedolei Hador are there for us!
Overturn The Evil Decree
Four hours before the new year begins, when life itself is hanging in the balance, the Gedolei v’Tzaddikei Hador put all of their spiritual preparations for the day of Hashem’s coronation on hold and go to the Kosel Hamaaravi – for us.
They bring with them to the Kosel Hamaaravi years of toiling in Torah, hours of ameilus batorah and teaching others. They, who are the closest to Hashem, plead before Him for us at the Shaar Hashamayim. They implore, break through barriers, so that we will merit a good year.
You read the brochure or see an advertisement of Vaad Harabbanim, and immediately remember and make a donation, because how is it possible to begin a new year without tzedakah to aniyei Eretz Yisrael?
And your donation goes ahead and grants new life to thousands of Jews, and your zechus ascends to Heaven and joins with the fervent tefilos of the Tzaddikim. Together, interwoven, the power of Torah and your tzedakah, which Hakadosh Baruch Hu promised us saves even from death, combined with the Tefilah in the holiest place on earth…
“With the power of this Tefilah” – in the words of Moreinu v’Rabbeinu Posek Hador Harav Hagaon Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zatzal. “The Tefilah session of Vaad Harabbanim on Erev Rosh Hashanah has the power to change a person’s gezar din to life!”
