.
We are used to running.
Our daily life rushes by day after day, week chases week and becomes a month, another year goes by and the baby we hugged just yesterday is already going to mesivta.
Time flies. Before we know it, our children will become parents themselves. What will they be like? What kind of people will they become? What kind of a home will they have?
What awaits our five-year-old or nine-year-old child? What secret is the ten-year-old carrying within him? What are our married children going through in their own lives? We look at them, and our heart – the hearts of a father and mother – are filled with tefilah for them.
On Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan, the day of segulah, as revealed to us by the Shelah Hakadosh, for attaining nachas from the children, the Gedolei Hador will be going up to the tomb of the Shelah especially for our children!
They take what we live for into their great heart, concentrate all the deepest aspirations and hopes and desires, and plead for the sake of our children with the power of the Torah Hakedoshah!
What will be with our children?
Now is when the answer is decided!
By fervent tefilos, by pure tzedakah. By the double power and segulah of the Maamad Tefilah on Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan.
The first calls to Vaad Harabbanim come in even before the brochures are distributed. “Please put my children in,” comes an urgent request from one of our many donors. “Listen, it’s very important to me. I must have my children mentioned at the Maamad of Tefilas Hashelah!”
When Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan gets close, we don’t need any brochure to remind people about the date. We are simply waiting for this awesome Maamad Tefilah. We can’t wait for the Gedolei Torah to daven Tefilas Hashelah for us and our children.
The Tefilas Hashelah focuses on all our aspirations in this world and the next world. It encompasses our spiritual and material yearnings and touches the deepest strings of our heart.
Open the Tefilah for a moment. Look at the words, whisper them with your lips. Just reading them makes one’s eyes moisten from tears of longing.
That we should merit having children – and this is not to be taken for granted at all. And that they should be healthy, and we should be healthy. That they should live with nachas and simcha and shalom with one another, and should themselves merit establishing proper Jewish homes and hugging their own children…
This is where the heavens open. Whatever you want, you can get it now. That our children should feel ahavas Hashem, that they should feel connected to mitzvos, that they should see success in Torah learning…
מָארֵי מִקְרָא, מָארֵי מִשְׁנָה, מָארֵי תַלְמוּד – do you want children who are talmidei chachamim? This is the time for it. ..וְיַעַבְדוּךָ בְּאַהֲבָה וּבְיִרְאָה פְּנִימִית. The right time has come, the Gedolei Hador are davening for it at the kever of the Shelah Hakadosh. May their tefillos be answered!
And the Tefilah continues, moving on to the stable material conditions that we hope for our children to have. We don’t have a treasure trove of health and strength to give to our children from. Through this Tefilah may we be zoche…
The future of your children stems from your tefilos. Their ruchniyus, their Yiddishkeit. Surely as a caring parent, you will take advantage and not let this opportunity pass.
How far are we willing to travel in order to have the Gadol Hador give a brocho to our child? Now the Gedolei Hador are the ones travelling in order to daven for our children.
On the day that the Shelah specifically mentioned, at the holy tomb of the Shelah, and with the nusach that the Shelah wrote.
It doesn’t happen on any other day, and not for any other purpose. The one and only time that the Gedolei Hador gather for Tefilah at the tomb of the Shelah Hakadosh, with a complex logistical effort, on one day at the same hour – is for the Maamad Tefilah of Vaad Harabbanim on Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan.
The Gedolei Hador are going out to daven for your child – grab this amazing opportunity!
