The Keys of Shidduchim

They are on their way there, trudging along the footpath in the middle of the night. Actually, shortly before the middle of the night, because at midnight, Chatzos, they need to be there already.

It’s the two pious and learned emissaries of Vaad Harabbanim, dressed in Yom Tov clothes and skirting the neighboring Arab village on their way by foot to Amukah.

It’s the night of Shevi’ishel Pesach, of course.

Why of course?

Because that is when Kri’as Yam Sufhappened, and the tomb of R. Yonasan ben Uzziel in Amukah is thebest place on earth to daven for breakthroughs inshidduchim, for that very reason.

Zivugimis compared by Chazal to Kri’as Yam Suf, so the best time to go to Amukah – which is world-famous as a segulah for shidduchim – is at the time of Kri’as Yam Suf. That’swhy they are going there.

But they are not davening for their own shidduchim, of course. They are the emissaries of Vaad Harabbanim!

So this is the time and the place for miracles to happen. There never was a better time and place than this.

Do you know a close family member or a distant relative, a friend or an acquaintance, a former schoolmate from yeshivah or seminar or other educational institution, or even some poor Jew somewhere at the ends of the earth, who needs a shidduch?

This is the time. There never was a timemore ripe than this.

Because this is the segulah that works, and the numbers prove it. All you have to do is listen to the phone calls in the Vaad Harabbanim offices after Pesach, or read the letters that come in, to know that it works.

You don’t even have to believe in it. All you have to do is send in the names and your donation, even if you scoff at the whole idea, or raise your intelligentlitvish eyebrows in utter disbelief when you hear all those incredibleyeshu’ahstories.

Just do it, just send in the names and the donation. No one said you have to believe in it. Just do it already, nu!

Butif you want to hear one of the many stories…

Yael says:Very soon I will be celebrating my 34th birthday, but I don’t want any presents. I wish I could just lock myself in a room and cry my heart out with no one hearing. I have been through too much already. Disappointment after disappointment, mustering the strength to try once more, here we go again, another shidduchthat didn’t work out.

A little before my birthday I read some of the yeshu’osstories of Vaad Harabbanim, the ones about shidduchim. It spoke to me, what can I say? I felt like I owe it to myself to at least try. So much money has gone already for shidduchim, what’s another $50 compared to what we spent already? Anyways it’s a mitzvah, so why not try?

So I went ahead and made the donation to Vaad Harabbanim, and I pledged that if I am engaged by Rosh Hashanah, I will add another $100. Yes, $100 in Israel is no sum to laugh at, but look, if I get engaged, it’s worth so much more than that, for sure, for sure it’s worth it.

A week later a shidduchwas offered. After that everything went fast, so fast, on Rosh Hashanah I was already a newlywed, I was in the clouds.

I saw the Sea split before my very eyes.

Please tell people it’s worth it, they should just try it, I am talking about the segulahthat Vaad Harabbanim offers, because it works!!!!
